The Story
Fetched Co first reached out to the Simplex Software team late 2019, they came to us with an idea about their new business model and after signing an NDA we learned that they were onto something big.
Fetched co are aiming to revolutionise the way dogs can get access to fresh and healthy food, specifically tailored to them based on their physical and dietary requirements.
The Challenge
Transform Website to Subscription Model
When launching a new startup, time to market is an influencing factor on choosing technology stacks and go-to market strategies.
Ultimately businesses should look to be validating their business hypothesis as quickly as possible while not sacrificing the quality of the application or website that they are launching.
To bring the Fetched Co concept to life as quickly as possible while still maintaining the ability to add-on to the platform after the initial launch, Simplex Software recommended to build on the Shopify e-commerce platform.
We recommended to build a Custom Shopify App as a Dog Nutritional Calculator which identifies the key physical traits of the dog and calculates the total amount of food that they should receive and how often it should be sent to their owners on a subscription.

The Result
Fetched Co was ready to be launched in March 2020, and while launching just as the pandemic was beginning Fetched Co managed to do an amazing job at bringing their new product to market during a time where the world was turned onto its head.
They launched a number of generous campaigns throughout the pandemic such as providing a free entire box of their healthy dog food (valued at $89), for anyone that was affected and locked down in Melbourne during their second wave lockdown.
The website has been a success and has gone through several iterations of designs based on new offers and creative assets with the help of a Sydney based digital marketing agency (startd.com.au) and also changing over the website to utilise a landing page builder, which allows the marketing team to quickly launch new pages that they can test out.
Simplex Software is currently engaged with Fetched Co in ongoing ad-hoc maintenance.
